Our story

We know this system because we helped  build it

The federal government offers more than 150 programs to help people manage, reduce, or forgive their student loans. Most people who qualify never enroll – not because they don't want relief, but because the system is genuinely hard to navigate alone.

Our founders spent years inside that system as federal policymakers and consumer finance leaders. They understood exactly where it broke down and what it would take to fix it. So they left to build what policy alone couldn't deliver.

Why we're called Summer

Summer is a feeling most people recognize: warmth, relief, freedom. It's what life feels like when the weight of obligation finally lifts.

We named the company Summer because that's what we want student loan borrowers to feel. Student debt doesn't have to define the next decade of your life. We exist to help you get to the other side of it faster, and with a lot less stress along the way.
